Cape Town City have received a huge boost to their midfield options with the news that Thabo Nodada looks set to face SuperSport United this Saturday.
Nodada has been out of action since February with a serious knee injury.
Coach Benni McCarthy has been playing with natural centrebacks Thato Mokeke and Abbubaker Mobara in the centre of the park to support playmaker Mpho Makola. But with Nodada back, McCarthy can shuffle his pack.
Meanwhile, Nodada’s regular partner Roland Putsche is also back in training have been ruled out with the same injury in the same month.
The influential Austrian will only be back in action in the next few weeks after returning to light training at the weekend.
Also good news on the injury front, is the return of centreback Taariq Fielies to team training.
The 27-year-old has made a remarkable recovery since a botched op in the off-season had initially ruled him out until the end of the year.
Having fallen into a coma, the hard man is back way ahead of schedule and he could be back for the clash against Golden Arrows on September 22.
