Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to return to the field of play when his Juventus team tackle Ajax Amsterdam in their Champions League quarterfinal first leg clash at home on Wednesday (9pm).
The 34-year-old superstar suffered a hamstring injury while on international duty with Portugal in March and hasn’t played a game since.
But he is scheduled to return in the first leg quarterfinal clash as Juventus chase their first Champions League title since 1996.
Ajax, though, are planning to put a stokkie voor their progress.
The visitors’ left-back Nicolas Tagliafico has warned Ronaldo and the Juve big names that they are going to tackle them with the same mentality that saw them knock out Real Madrid in the Round of 16.
Tagliafico says: “We will have the same determination that we had against Real Madrid, this time against Juventus.
“We know it’s really tough, they are a great team and, on top of that, they have great players like Cristiano Ronaldo. With our tools, now well-known by everybody, we can play without fear again to get another big result against Juventus.
“We are fearless. We went to Madrid determined to enjoy ourselves. It was our best game we’ve played this year. It was perfect.
“Now, against Juventus, we need another perfect game, but why not? We have to make the most of it, enjoy it because I believe we can carry on making history.”
