Benni McCarthy wants his Cape Town City team to bring the storm to Polokwane when they kick off their MTN8 title defence at Newlands on Saturday (3pm).
Despite sunny weather predicted for the clash, McCarthy wants his manne to make it as difficult as possible for their visitors from Limpopo.
The Bafana Bafana legend says: “We want them to consider the conditions, whether it’s windy or not, and a Cape Town City team that will bring the storm on the pitch.”
City has had their share of disruptions due to the rainy weather in the Cape, having to leave their Hartleyvale facility due to a waterlogged training ground.
He adds: “We footballers need to be able to adapt. If you don’t, you always going to have an excuse and we don’t want to do that.
“We are the defending champions, we just want to keep things consistent.”
