The South African women's national soccer team Banyana Banyana will start their preparations for the Cyprus Cup later this month with a training camp in Johannesburg on Wednesday.
The tournament takes place from February 27 to March 6 and will provide coaches and players the ideal time to fine-tune the team ahead of the Fifa Women’s World Cup scheduled for France.
South Africa has been drawn in Group A alongside Finland, the Czech Republic and Korea DPR.
The squad departs for Cyprus on Saturday with their first match set for Wednesday, February 27.
Meanwhile Banyana Banyana forward and Africa’s Woman Player of the Year, Thembi Kgatlana has been nominated for the 2018 Most Influential Young South African in the category of sports.
