Rising Sharks star Dylan Richardson has been called up to the Scotland squad for their November internationals.
But the good news for the Durban franchise is that while he will be lost to the Springboks, Richardson is to remain at the Sharks for some time to come.
Scotland coach Gregor Townsend has had his eye on Richardson ever since discovering he has an Edinburgh-born father, and included him in his 36-man training squad.
The 22-year-old Richardson is one of the hottest properties in South African rugby because of his ability to excel at both hooker and openside flank.
He was a member of the SA U20 team that won bronze at the World Championship in Argentina in 2019.
Richardson isn’t the only South African to be included in Townsend’s squad, with uncapped former Bulls prop Pierre Schoeman joining the likes of SA-born Oli Kebble and Kyle Steyn in the squad.
Scotland will face the Boks on November 13.
