OUT: Russell Domingo

Domingo, who joined the national set-up as an assistant to Gary Kirsten in 2011 before becoming T20 boss in 2012 and then the coach in all formats in May 2013, had to reapply for his job after yet another failed ICC event earlier this month.

And according to reports, the 42-year-old failed to do so.

Cricket South Africa, though, couldn’t confirm the rumours, with spokesman Altaaf Kazi telling the Daily Voice: “The selection of a coach is a confidential process so we cannot comment nor confirm any reports surrounding the matter.

“What can be said is that a panel is in the process of going through the candidates and they will present their recommendations on July 21.”

Meanwhile, ex-Cape Cobras boss Shukri Conrad, Lions coach Geoffrey Toyana, Warriors boss Malibongwe Maketa, ex-Titans mentor Rob Walter and another former Cobras boss Richard Pybus have reportedly applied for the post.
