BLITZVINNIG: Cheslin Kolbe

The Stormers will not change their game plan as they gear up for the Super Rugby quarterfinals next week.

Facing a Kiwi team – the Chiefs, if the log remains the same at the end of this weekend – at Newlands, the Capetonians will continue to try and run the ball in order to get to the semis.

But first they have to get past the Bulls at Loftus this weekend, a match the Stormers camp believes is the perfect dress rehearsal for the playoffs.

Having put in a less-than-impressive performance in their 52-15 win over the Sunwolves last weekend, Stormers forwards coach Russell Winter says: “There were too many times we forced the pass when we should have kept the ball.

“[But] we don’t want to change the way we play, We are the fourth highest try-scoring team in the competition and we still want to play an exciting brand.”

The likes of Cheslin Kolbe, who is their top-scorer with eight tries, can only run freely once the forwards stiek uit.

And Winter adds: “At the same time we want our pack to play a dominant sort of game.”
