Western Province and Stormers breakdown coach John Dobson has been appointed the Stormers' head coach from next season, taking over from Robbie Fleck.
Both Fleck and Dobson will work closely with WP Rugby Group CEO Paul Zacks and High-Performance Manager Greg Hechter to develop the squad from 2020.
Paul Zacks explains Dobson’s role: “In addition to ensuring the Stormers’ success on the field, one of Dobson’s key focus areas will be driving transformation in the Stormers’ future coaching and management teams.
Dobbo remains WP Currie Cup boss, but Jerome Paarwater has been named WP's SuperSport Rugby Challenge coach.
In a shake-up in the leadership at Newlands, Zacks thanked outgoing WP Director of Rugby Gert Smal, who will join Toyota Verblitz in Japan later this month.
Paul Treu has been handed the role of Performance and Innovation Manager.
In other announcements, the Stormers also confirmed their management for this season.
Riefaat Jappie (strength and conditioning), Norman Laker (defence), and Dawie Snyman (assistant coach - backs) come into the set-up, joining head coach Fleck, Russell Winter (assistant coach - forwards), Human Kriek (technical analyst) and Team Manager Chippie Solomon.
Dobson (breakdowns), Paul Feeney (skills and exits), Gareth Wright (kicking) and consultant Hanyani Shimange will provide specialist input to WP and Stormers.
