The Stormers have an injury crisis in their back three ahead of Saturday’s Super Rugby clash against the Blues at Newlands.

Fullback SP Marais is expected to be ruled out of the encounter after undergoing scans to the rib injury he suffered in last weekend’s defeat to the Highlanders in Dunedin.

With Marais out, right wing Dillyn Leyds is expected to shift to fullback.

But with Seabelo Senatla also still on the road to recovery after injury, the Stormers might look to JJ Engelbrecht to fill the void on the wing.

New recruit Sergeal Petersen, meanwhile, played for Western Province against Maties in a SuperSport Challenge warm-up match this past weekend and suffered a knee injury that will rule him out for four months.

There was some good news for coach Robbie Fleck, though, with lock Pieter-Steph du Toit and flank Cobus Wiese both being available again after missing the defeat in Dunedin because of injury.
