The big dogs who run rugby in South Africa have pulled together to combat the challenge that is the coronavirus.
With all on-field activity suspended, the sport is taking a serious financial knock.
But a working group including CEO Jurie Roux and SA Rugby (Saru), South African Rugby Employers’ Organisation (SAREO), MyPlayers and the Sport Employees Unite (SEU) are currently working together on a plan to lessen the financial impact.
In a joint statement the grouping says: “We are in constant communication and have created various work streams in sub-groupings to determine the extent of the financial impact on the business of rugby.
“This is a unique situation which has called for a unique response and we are considering a number of potential scenarios and how we can mitigate the impact on the sport and our people.”
