Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus has roped in three Western Province players ahead of Saturday’s Test against Argentina at Loftus.
With national captain Siya Kolisi an obvious addition to the squad this week, Erasmus also called up Capetonians Dillyn Leyds, Scarra Ntubeni and Wilco Louw, all of whom having played in WPs 45-14 win over the Pumas last weekend, to his squad.
They aren’t the only players to get a late World Cup lifeline, with Bulls flanker Marco van Staden also added to the squad as Erasmus takes a closer look at his fringe players before announcing his squad for the Japan tournament on August 26.

Ntubeni is the only player of the four that hasn’t been capped at international level yet, with fellow front-rower Louw last wearing a Green and Gold jumper against England at the end of last year.

Leyds, meanwhile, sat on the bench in the first Rugby Championship match against Australia this year, while Van Staden played the last of his two Tests against Australia in the Rugby Championship last season.
