Alun Wyn Jones sounded a rallying cry to his Wales team after they booked a tie with France in the World Cup quarterfinals, it’s time to make yourself a hero.
Wales finished their pool unbeaten with a sloppy bonus-point win over Uruguay, thanks to scores from Josh Adams, who took his fifth of the tournament, Nicky Smith, Tomos Williams, Gareth Davies and a penalty try.
And now Wales are eyeing unprecedented glory in Japan.
Coach Warren Gatland explains: “Alun Wyn Jones probably said the best thing when he told the players: ‘We’ve got 240 minutes left to achieve something special’.
“There is a lot of confidence in the team. We have belief that if we play well enough against any side we can beat them.
“There is a massive amount of motivation for this quarterfinal. These opportunities can change people’s lives. I am pretty sure the guys don’t want to go home next Monday.”
