The Stormers have not won a match in Australasia in three years.
That last victory was in Australia when they beat the now-defunct Force 22-3 in July 2016.
Back then, coach Robbie Fleck was just an interim boss.
Since his full-time appointment in 2017, though, they have not had any success in Australia and New Zealand.
Friday marks Fleck’s last round-robin match in charge of the team in Australia and he would like nothing more than his charges to give him one for the road.
Having suffered defeat to the Hurricanes, Blues and the Reds so far, the coach, who will leave his position at the end of the season, is still confident that they can get a win over the Rebels.
Despite being bottom of the SA Conference, Fleck says it hasn’t been difficult to get the players up for this match.
He explains: “[Motivation] hasn’t been an issue.
“It’s been a very good tour in terms of developing our game. The guys have been motivated, it’s just individual errors that are letting us down.
“They [the players] are excited about what we are creating - we are looking forward to the game and hopefully we can end [the tour] on a high.”
