And of how Stormers management has helped motivate Roos ahead of Friday's game, Hlungawni says: “Look, our mindset is very simple when it comes to our players, you know.

“If you are in the Springbok alignment camp, we celebrate you, and we help you if you're not there. The best thing to do is to work harder, keep looking for improvement, and that is the same thing, sort of told Evan, you know.

“He [knows] he can always be better, and that is where his mindset is now, he is just gonna keep working and keep putting his hand up, and that opportunity will eventually come again.

Hlungwani reckons Roos’ Bok snub has also helped keep their lethal ball-carrier with 58 carries and 30 defenders beaten in this season’s URC campaign to date, focused on tomorrow’s big task.

Especially after the Kapenaars booked an early (last Friday) business-class flight out to Glasgow and acclimatised properly to Scottish conditions.

And of how Roos and the rest of the Stormers have been fully focused on business for tomorrow's knockout match, Hlungawni says: “Obviously [flying] business class is nice, the players are nice and comfortable, they are not as tired as they are when we fly economy class.

“With regards to travelling out earlier, it just gives us a full training week.”

THE Stormers are backing Evan Roos to “do the business” in Friday's 8.35pm United Rugby Championship quarter-final against Glasgow Warriors after getting snubbed for last week’s Springbok training camp.

Since his return from a shoulder injury, the Stormer No.8 has been in fine form for the Kaapse span.

But it came as a shock to many Bok supporters that coach Rassie Erasmus overlooked Roos for the national team’s second bosberaad ahead of the start of a busy Test match season.

And although Erasmus has said that players who were not picked for the camp are still in his plans for the season, Stormers forwards coach Rito Hlungwani has made Roos more determined to prove he should be the incumbent for the Bok No. 8 jersey.
