DESPITE a loss in their only warm-up game, Stormers coach John Dobson wysed sy span is gereed to tackle Leinster’s best in next week’s United Rugby Championship clash innie Kaap.
The Stormers went down 26-17 to the Sharks in last Friday’s friendly game at Outeniqua Park in George.
Dobson’s team made a gevaarlike start, scoring three first-half tries with Seabelo Senatla scoring two, but they lost momentum after making a vrag replacements in the second 40. Of his team’s performance, Dobson wysed: “The first half was excellent or rather the first [starting] team we chose we excellent. We played some compelling rugby. I liked the speed on the ball, some good stuff in the mauls, it was a very good half.”
He added of coming up stuck in the second half: “I felt a bit sorry for our second team, you know, we made every [possible] change at halftime, and I felt sorry for them.
“All in all it was a good exercise for our guys.”
Dobson said they decided to only have the one URC friendly – after already giving players a run out in Western Province’s final Currie Cup game – so that they can put a big focus into training over the next two weeks, as they prepare to face the URC champions.
With it being the start of the season, Leinster are expected to bring their strongest team, although the Irish club have never been scared to pick a bunch of second-stringers in Mzansi.

“The defending champions, whoever they bring, at home in our first game, is going to be special.”
