SPRINGBOK rookie Ethan Hooker says he is ready to wys die All Blacks waar Dawid die wortels gegrawe het in Saturday’s 9.05am Rugby Championship rematch in Wellington.
Hooker, 22, was one of the surprise selections in the Bok starting team when coach Rassie Erasmus decided to name his span on Monday.
It will be the Sharks back’s first run-on Test for the Boks after making his debut off the bench in South Africa’s 45-0 win against Italy in July.
Hooker played his second Test off the bench in last week’s 24-17 loss to the All Blacks at Eden Park.
This time he will be wearing the No.11 jersey when the Boks take on New Zealand at the Cake Tin.
And of going out there with fellow rookies Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, Canan Moodie and Aphelele Fassi, and frightening the All Blacks, Hooker wysed: “Everyone is a bit edgy and keen to get on the pitch and just express themselves, but in training our combos are working really well, guys are linking up and we are not feeling any pressure.
“We feel like we can express ourselves, and I think that is a very good positive to take into this game.”
Meanwhile, Bok prop Asenathi Ntlabakanye has been charged by the SA Institute for Drug-Free Sport with a doping offence after declaring use of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), a banned performance-enhancing substance, which he believed was permitted after consulting two doctors, according to the Daily Maverick.
Ntlabakanye now faces a possible two-to-four-year ban and must prove medical mismanagement, not intentional doping.
