A heavyweight clash between defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates will kick off the resumption of the PSL on August 11.
Mzansi football will return three days earlier with the Nedbank Cup semifinals, with Downs taking on Wits and Baroka meeting Bloem Celtic, before the final takes place on September 8 and promotion playoffs to follow until the 21st.
But until then it’s league action all the way, with leaders Kaizer Chiefs getting a thorough test first up from Wits on the 12th.
Then on the 27th, Chiefs host Downs in what could be a title decider.
Meanwhile, the Mother City’s teams – Cape Town City and Stellenbosch – also have alles to play for in their campaigns, as they look to pad the four-point gap between them and the relegation zone.
They will face each other in a displaced Cape derby in the TUKS Stadium on the 20th.
Down in the GladAfrica Championship, Ajax Cape Town will look to continue to build on their six-point lead in a push for promotion in their final six games.
