Proteas opening batsman Aiden Markram is leading the Titans’ fightback in their 4-Day Series clash against the Cape Cobras at Centurion Park.
Markram ended the second day unbeaten on 80, with the Titans on 136/1 in reply to the Cobras’ first-innings total of 411.
Still trailing by 275 first-innings runs, Markram will be joined in the middle by Neil Brand (38*) when play resumes today.
While Markram will be chasing the three-figure mark, fellow Proteas batsman and Cobras opener Pieter Malan scored a century in their innings.
Malan top-scored with 125 in their first innings, with middle-order batsman Aviwe Mgijima getting 86 and Calvin Savage scoring 40 lower down the order.
Thando Ntini was the best bowler for the hosts, taking 3/66 in his 21 overs.
Corbin Bosch, meanwhile, took the only Titans wicket of the day when he had another Proteas opener Dean Elgar caught by Mgijima for just nine runs.
