City shrugged off Clinton Mata’s early goal as Foden set up Joao Cancelo for the equaliser and Riyad Mahrez put Guardiola’s manne 2-1 up at the break from the penalty spot after Kevin de Bruyne was fouled.
Kyle Walker made it 3-1 before 19-year-old Palmer curled home after 67 minutes and Mahrez completed the scoring late on.
Guardiola says of his kids: “Phil is Phil. Cole is Cole. Phil is already a reality otherwise he would not be with the national team.
“The people in this world want things immediately. Everything needs time. You cannot cook a good dish if you don’t spend time in the kitchen.”
