If the latest reports from the UK are to believed, things are about to get even worse at Western Province.
According to therugbypaper website, highly-rated WP looseforward Juarno Augustus is set to join Premiership side Northampton Saints.
Nicknamed Trokkie for his powerful runs, Augustus is a done deal, signing a contract for an initial two year deal with the option for a third year and will be paid around R3.6m a year.
The 23-year-old can play blindside or No.8 and made a name for himself at the 2017 U20 World Cup Finals, winning the Player of the Tournament award and finishing top try scorer.
Province have already lost promising Jaco Coetzee to Bath this month.
And this week Springbok captain Siya Kolisi joined the Sharks, revealing on Thursday that he paid for his own transfer fee to leave the Mother City.
He is quoted on the Sport24 website as saying: “WP offered me something, but I didn’t accept it.
“Obviously there was a transfer fee and that is something I took care of myself.”
Meanwhile, WP on Thursday announced the signing of Bok lock Marvin Orie as a free agent after leaving the Lions.
Coach John Dobson says: "We are thrilled to add a lock of Marvin's quality to our squad.
“He is an international who has always posed a major threat when we have come up against him, so he will add valuable depth to our second row.”
