Chelsea ELSEA boss Frank Lampard says he is ready for the challenge to turn his young team into Premier League title contenders.
The Blues finished fourth in the league last season, with an FA Cup final appearance and a last-16 Champions League exit on the back of a transfer ban.
But after the arrival of Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Hakim Ziyech in a £250m splurge, Lampard is smaaking the pressure.
Ahead of tonight’s league opener at Brighton,
Lampard says: “My expectations are on a different level from last year because of the different situation
“I didn’t come here to finish fourth place.”
Of his new boys, only Havertz and Werner are in contention to start tonight.
