After losing 22-20 to the Blue Bulls at Newlands last weekend, Western Province captain Siya Kolisi believes every single game is a knockout clash from now on.
Currently in third place on the Currie Cup log, WP are chasing a home semifinal in what is their last season at Newlands.
But after their latest setback against a 14-man Bulls team, who had prop Jacques van Rooyen sent off with more than 30 minutes to play, Kolisi admits they have reached a do-or-die stage.
Kolisi says: “We’ve got to pick ourselves up. Now we know we’ve got to win every game to get a home semifinal.
“It’s simple, we have to come back, work as hard as we can and go play the Lions at Ellis Park on Saturday.
“It’s not going to be easy at all. It’s going to be hard and then we’ve got the Cheetahs also away [with the rest of the games being at Newlands].
“So that’s our mindset – we just have to win every game from now on.”
A bonus-point win over the Lions on Saturday will see them leapfrog the Sharks, who have a bye this, in second place.
When they return from Ellis Park, Province will host the Pumas and Griquas before travelling to Bloemfontein.
They then finish off the round-robin stage with a visit from the Sharks on January 9.
