Barcelona kan maar gaan slaap, Pep Guardiola is staying at Manchester City for the next two years at least.
The Nou Camp top dogs have been flirting with the Spanish mentor, but Guardiola yesterday signed a new two-year deal ahead of their Premier League clash at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday night at 7.30pm.
With the new deal keeping him at the club until the 2022/23 season, Guardiola says: “Ever since I arrived at Manchester City I have been made to feel so welcome in the club and in the city itself.”
Jose Mourinho and his Spurs span will go all-out to spoil the City feesvieringe tomorrow night.
Led by captain Harry Kane and his strike partner Hueng-Min Son, Spurs are currently second on the log – one point behind leaders Leicester and level on 17 with champions Liverpool, with City down in 12th on 10 points.
Kane believes they can bag the log points tomorrow and also go on to lift the title at the end of the season.
He says: “I think we’re both [he and Son] at a stage in our careers where we want to be winning stuff – we want to be doing everything to win.
“We’ve got a long, long way to go.
“Look, we’re playing well. I still think that we can improve and get better but obviously we’re second in the league.
“We’re in November, there’s still a lot of games to play, but we’re in a good spot.”
