SuperSport are going all out to attract more subscribers as the new season beckons just weeks after the thrilling World Cup.
Apart from the top-class leagues on offer on SuperSport, the off-field analysis promises to be top-rate with several offerings that ought to appeal to a wide spectrum of viewers.
For the first time, SuperSport will also be kicking off a vernacular soccer show – Ibhola Lethu – that will air on Mondays, beginning on August 20.
Local football topics will be discussed in an educational and engaging way to bridge the gap between young and old soccer lovers.
The show will be presented by experienced Phumlani Msibi, who will routinely have former players, industry experts and reporters as guests.
Ibhola Lethu will be broadcast weekly on SS4 from 7-7.30pm. The August 20 premiere, however, will be an hour-long, from 7-8pm.
The popular Extra Time show will have a new host in Carol Tshabalala, who blends sassiness with a keen eye on all the PSL action. Guests will include coaches, experts and referees, among others.
The show will be broadcast weekly on Mondays on SS4 from 8.30-9.30pm.
The sports infotainment show - Thursday Night Live - will kick-start the weekend with renowned host, Robert Marawa. This show brings viewers up to speed with sport from around the globe.
Euro-Connect is another brand-new show that delves into the fascinating world of European soccer every Friday night (SS3, 7-8pm), beginning August 17.
Neil Andrews will connect with a team of correspondents who will relay news, views and insights from in and around Europe.
Fridays will see the addition of Extra Time Re-Loaded, which will start on August 10 with the likes of Jimmy Tau, Stanton Fredericks and Dikgang Mabalene as new hosts providing in-depth analysis for the upcoming weekend games.
The show will broadcast weekly on SS4 from 7-8pm.
Last, but not least, is the all-new Fanbase; a show for the fans, about the fans and with the fans.
Beginning August 19 (SS4, 5.30-6pm), the show intends to give the proverbial 12th man a platform to express his or her views.
On a weekly basis a variety of presenters, including Lindiwe Dube, Mbali Nkosi, Ierfaan Adams and Lwazi Ziqubo, will be joined by fans in studio for an hour of banter and fun and games.
Social media will be a major part of the show and viewers can join the conversation via Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Skype and live phone calls.
