Hertha Berlin have signed Serbia midfielder Marko
Grujic on a season-long loan from England's Liverpool, the Bundesliga
club said on Sunday.
Grujic, 22, was part of Serbia's World Cup squad in Russia but didn't
play in their group stage exit. He is Hertha's fourth summer signing.
"In Marko we have got the man our midfield has been looking for. He
is technically strong and with his defensive and offensive qualities,
his physical presence and strong ability in the air he will fit in
well here," sports director Michael Preetz said.
Grujic said: "Hertha are a big club and I have always been excited by
the Bundesliga. I want to show as quickly as possible that I can help
this team."
Hertha play a first-round cup match on Monday at Eintracht
Braunschweig and start the Bundesliga season Saturday at home against
promoted Nuremberg.
