Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is demanding a more clinical edge when they face a West Ham London derby test tonight.
The Blues have won all of their games since the coronavirus restart - beating Aston Villa and Manchester City in the Premier League and Leicester to book a place in the FA Cup semifinals.
But all of those victories came by just the odd goal, with the Blues missing chances to kill off their opponents sooner.
And Lampard wants his manne to be more
ruthless at the London Stadium.
He says: “I have spoken about it because we do look at stats.
“We have had a lot of games which have been crucial where we have had chances but not converted. We have shown a good eye for it. We have created a lot.
“We are scoring more regularly and we’ll strive for more.”
DEMANDING: Frank Lampard
They face a team fighting relegation in a derby and that means the Blues will have to be tougher against David Moyes’
battlers.
Lampard adds: “I am happy to win games,
elements of the way we have played.
“We showed steel against Man City, it’s something we must improve and get
better at.
“We need to keep working and we need to focus on every part of our game.
“It is a special game in terms that we want three points.”
DOUBTS: Pulisic, left
The club’s record goalscorer revealed that winger Christian Pulisic and defender Andreas Christensen will face late fitness tests ahead of the clash.
He says: “Christian [Pulisic] has felt a bit of tightness in the calf. We are managing him, but no answer yet.
“Christensen is in the squad, but we’ll have to check [today].”
