Cape Town City starlet Taahir Goedeman is hoping to build on a bright PSL debut against Mamelodi Sundowns if he gets another shot against TS Galaxy this weekend.
The 21-year-old midfielder from Kalksteenfontein held his own against the champions last weekend and nearly snatched a second-half winner.
And he has been working hard all week to convince boss Eric Tinkler to trust him to face Galaxy and end their two-match winless streak.
He says: “It’s important for us as a team to perform again like we did last week against Sundowns.
“TS Galaxy are not a easy team to play against. The coach showed us some areas where we can hurt them but it’s all gonna be down to us to go out there and put in the work. Hopefully I will get to keep my place but if not I will do whatever I need to for the team.
“Now I have to work even harder to make sure the coach feels he can trust me enough in any game.”
Tomorrow: Mamelodi Sundowns v Sekhukhune United (3.30pm)
Sunday: Swallows v Chiefs, G. Arrows v Baroka, Maritzburg Utd v AmaZulu (5.30pm)
