Get ready for blockbuster Friday in the Champions League tonight, with European giants Barcelona and Bayern Munich going to war in Portugal.
Entering the quarterfinal match, it’s Bayern that are deemed surprise favourites against Lionel Messi and his Barcelona teammates.
That’s because the German giants, who last won the European Cup in 2013, have been unstoppable this season, amazingly not losing a single competitive match in 2020.
Led by striker Robert Lewandowski, who is the top scorer in the UCL with 13 strikes, they are chasing a treble after winning the German league and cup double.
And with almal se oe op ace Lewandowski, Barca star Antoine Griezmann says they will be making themselves laat if they focus on one guy only.
He explains: “Bayern are not just Lewandowski.
“The wingers get forward a lot, [Thomas] Muller, [Serge] Gnabry are also very good... Lewandowski scores a lot of goals but the danger comes from anywhere.”
While the Germans are enjoying a dream season, Barca surrendered their La Liga title and also had to deal with reports suggesting Messi and coach Quique Setien don’t see eye to eye.
But as they hunt a first Euro title since 2015, Griezmann believes they can go all the way.
He says: “We also have the tools to play a great game. We have to look at our strengths and try to qualify [for the semifinal].
“They’re a very physical team that’s used to having the ball. We have to make life difficult for them and play our game.”
