Bafana Bafana legend Quinton Fortune has swapped Manchester United for Reading.
The 43-year-old former Red Devils
midfielder, who was an assistant coach in Man United’s U23 setup, is nou klaar met die kinderspeletjies and has graduated to
first-team action at the Championship club.
Joining alongside new assistant Nuno Gomes, Fortune will be a right-hand man for boss Veljko Paunovic, who was his
teammate at Atletico Madrid before his move to Old Trafford.
Reading announced the move, saying: “Reading Football Club are pleased to confirm that Quinton Fortune and Nuno Gomes have both put pen to paper to sign coaching contracts with the Royals.
“The duo arrive as part of our new manager’s first team staff and joined Veljko Paunovic on the training pitch at Bearwood Park for the first time [Tuesday] morning.
“We would like to warmly welcome both Quinton and Nuno to Reading Football Club.”
