FIT AGAIN: Stormers pivot Du Preez. CREDIT: Sourced
Stormers flyhalf Robert du Preez is fit and ready to go.

Du Preez, who has recovered from a knee injury, will play off the bench for Western Province in their Currie Cup Qualifiers match against the Leopards in Potchefstroom (7pm).

He is not the only Stormers player that will be part of the match as Jaco Taute was named in the midfield, while lock Jean Kleyn and prop Wilco Louw, all back from injury, will also bolster coach John Dobson’s side.

Prop Alistair Vermaak is also back in the mix after doing duty for the Stormers and will man the front row with Louw and Cullen Collopy at hooker.

Kleyn returns to partner captain Chris van Zyl at lock, with Jurie van Vuuren on the bench, and there is a shuffle in the loose trio with Beyers de Villiers coming in at openside flank alongside Luke Stringer and Kobus van Dyk.

In the backline scrumhalf Herschel Jantjies will make his run-on debut in the absence of the injured Justin Phillips, with Hamiltons star Freddie Muller on the bench.

Coach Dobson says: “There are quite a few new faces this week, and the challenge is to continue the momentum we have built in recent weeks.

“It will be tough up against a Leopards team that has shown good form recently...”
