Ex-Springbok prop and medical doctor Jannie du Plessis believes the world won’t be the same again after the coronavirus.
Du Plessis, who returned to South Africa at the start of the season to play Super Rugby for the Lions, tells Netwerk24: “Normal will never be quite like we knew it.”
The 37-year-old and his wife moved to their Free State farm during lockdown, with Du Plessis adding: “Here is more space for everyone and from a health and exposure to people point of view, it’s also better. What gave me a fright of this current virus was how quickly it spread.”
Du Plessis also credits President Cyril Ramaphosa for how he handled the whole situation.
He adds: “The manner in which the President acted, and the measures put in place, is the right way to go about things, even though there are people skeptical about the lockdown.”
