New Barcelona striker Luuk de Jong is hoping to link up with Memphis Depay to prove there is life after Lionel Messi.
Messi left the Nou Camp after 21 years in the off-season, with Netherlands aces De Jong and Depay arriving to fill the massive void.
Having partnered up at PSV Eindhoven previously, De Jong is confident they can combine again, with a huge Champions League clash against Bayern Munich up next tomorrow night at 9pm.
The former Newcastle and Sevilla striker says: “I have a very good relationship with Memphis.
“I know him from PSV and we played well together. We understand each other without words, just with football.”
Meanwhile, Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann is paaping over the fitness of star forwards Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry.
He says: “Serge has problems in his back, back pain. Lewy has a bit of trouble in his groin.”
