The Proteas’ World Cup campaign is in serious danger of washing away at Sophia Gardens in Wales on Saturday (11.30am).
Not having won a match in four outings with their only log point being the one they were given when their match against the West Indies rained out earlier this week, the weather gurus’ crystal ball doesn’t make for good reading if you are a South African fan.
With rain washing out most of the matches this week, a 70 percent chance of showers are predicted at the Sophia Gardens and will last for most of the day on Saturday.

If the match against the bottom-placed team in the tournament is indeed abandoned because of the weather conditions, South Africa will have two log points from five outings.
Captain Faf du Plessis and his men will then also have played the most matches in the tournament and will only have four games left after that, meaning the best they can do is bag 10 log points - which will probably not be enough to get them into the top four.
