Cape Town Blitz coach Ashwell Prince is as aan over his team’s six-wicket defeat to Durban Heat in their final round-robin match of the Mzansi Super League.
Having already secured a home final at Newlands on Sunday, Prince knows that it’s important for his team to produce the goods in the only game that matters: the decider.
Prince explains: “At the end of the day, games that don’t matter, don’t matter - that’s the bottom line.
“[The Heat] game didn’t matter, Sunday’s game [the final] matters and it’s about turning up when it matters.”
Exactly who Blitz will face in that final is not yet clear.
A number of teams are still fighting for a spot in Friday’s semifinal match.
Among them are Paarl Rocks, who face fellow playoff contenders Nelson Mandela Bay Giants on Wednesday night in what can turn out to be a semifinal decider.
Tshwane Spartans, with two games left, can still krap die skape deurmekaar.
They face Jozi Stars in a must-win for both sides on Tuesday (7 pm) and then finish their round-robin campaign against Heat on Wednesday.
If the Spartans beat the Stars they will overtake Rocks on the log.
That will set up a thrilling final day of round-robin action on Wednesday.
