FOCUS: Ashwell Prince

The Cape Cobras know it’s the business end of the T20 Challenge and they are ready to clock in.
Currently in second place on the log, coach Ashwell Prince’s side has three games left in the round-robin phase of the tournament to book their place in the playoffs.

After losing the first three games of their campaign, the Cobras have bounced back in style winning three in a row while their last match against the Dolphins rained out.

Tonight in Kimberley they face the Knights at 6pm and after beating the men from Bloemfontein in their first meeting this year, Prince is confident heading into the clash.

He tells the Cobras’ website: “When you’re trying to qualify for something, you want things to be in your own hands and you don’t want to be depending on favours from other people.

“So we’ve got three games to go and if we win two out of the three we should secure a semifinal, if not a home semifinal.

“But we know it’s one step at a time and first up is the Knights, who are a dangerous side, so we’re expecting a tough game in Kimberley.”
