Dane Piedt hailed his Cape Cobras side for finishing off the Titans inside three days as they maintained their slender 4-Day Series title lead.
The Cobras skipper led from the front with a franchise record best-bowling performance as they won the second last match of the series by five wickets on Wednesday in Oudtshoorn.
The Proteas spinner took 6/75 in the first innings, followed that up with 7/66 to set up a much-needed victory ahead of the start of their final match of the season at the Dolphins on Monday.
It gave Piedt career-best match-figures of 13 for 141 - surpassing the previous best of 12 for 105 taken by Wayne Parnell against the Dolphins at Cape Town in 2015/16.
Piedt, though, refused to take the credit, saying: “I have to take my hat off to the way George Linde (5/133) bowled - my partner for the game.
“He was unbelievable and was waiting for his opportunity to play. And the way he put up his hand, really makes me smile.
“I’m just so proud of the way the guys went about their business.
“Pieter Malan again - runs machine - stamping his authority on the [first] innings with a 95 and everyone chipping in down the order - Jason Smith (a first-innings 48) batted wonderfully.
“So again it just shows it was a team performance to get over the line in three days against a Titans team that won the competition last season.
“So ja, we are just in good spirits with the way we played. It was a perfect example of the way we play.”
Title rivals the Lions, who trail the Cobras by just three log points, and the third-placed Warriors face off in the final round next week.
