Proteas boss Ottis Gibson expects his team to whitewash Pakistan even with skipper Faf du Plessis suspended.
South Africa head into the third and final Test at the Wanderers on Friday 2-0 up, but missing their captain after copping a second slow-over rate demerit in the nine-wicket win at Newlands.
Gibson says his team are keen to “finish the series off on a high” and is backing whoever comes in for Du Plessis to play their best cricket as the Proteas look to take back top spot in the ICC Test rankings.
He says: “It is disappointing losing Faf, he plays an immense role in the team both on and off the field. We will be meeting with the selectors to decide on a suitable replacement but I have no doubt that whoever is selected will make the best use of the opportunity,”

Uncapped Cape Cobras batsman Zubayr Hamza looks set to slot into lineup having been with the squad for the entire series.
Gibson is also confident that Hashim Amla and Aiden Markram will both shrug off injuries that saw them miss some of the second innings in Cape Town.
