The Mzansi Super League is here.
With the action starting on November 16, Mother City cricket fans will have to get their hard hats ready.
Two out of the six teams will come from the Cape region, with Cape Town Blitz representing the peninsula and Paarl Rocks from the Boland.
Blitz lost their captain JP Duminy to injury and he was replaced by Proteas superstar Quinton de Kock in a team that also features Dale Steyn.
Coached by Ashwell Prince, Blitz also added big-hitters Andile Phehlukwayo and Farhaan Behardien to their team in the tournament’s draft on Wednesday.
The Paarl team, led by Proteas captain Faf du Plessis, added West Indian Dwayne Bravo and Proteas opener Aiden Markram to their squad at the draw.
Of the Western Cape rivals, Blitz coach Ashwell Prince says: “There’s not much of a rivalry - Paarl obviously being part of the Western Cape.
“So there’s more of a brotherhood than a rivalry.
“I think there is going to be new rivalries formed in the next season or two.”
