Proteas coach Ottis Gibson is still looking for the perfect blend in his Test team.
And 20-year-old Wiaan Mulder might get his chance to impress the national boss on Good Friday when the Proteas look to finish off Australia in the fourth Test at the Wanderers.
Entering final match with a 2-1 series lead, Mulder along with wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen are the only original squad members that have not yet had a taste of the Aussies.
Preparing to face an Aussie side stripped of cheats Steve Smith, Dave Warner and Cameron Bancroft, Gibson is open to the idea of freshening up his side and this brings Mulder into the equation.
Gibson explains: “As we always do when we get to a venue, we look at composition of team, which way we’re going to go. We’ve made a bowling change every game.

“In a three-man attack, it’s nice to freshen one bowler up.
“We saw Morne Morkel [rested] in Port Elizabeth and he came back strong in Cape Town.
“When Lungi missed first Test, he did well in second Test.”
Of allrounder Mulder, Gibson adds: “Mulder is improving all the time and he will come into the reckoning at his home ground.
“There are quite a few changes we can make that will add value to the team. But we will try and pick the best team to win the Test match.”
Shifting his attention to the batting department, Gibson is also hopeful that captain Faf du Plessis will come good at the Wanderers.
Having scored only 55 runs in five outs, Faf averages a lowly 11 in the series against Australia.
Of his skipper, Gibson says: “[His form is] not a concern. He’s our leader and we would like him to make runs. [But] his job goes far beyond making runs for us.
“His leadership is crucial to the way we play."
