The Mzansi Super League is already starting to create heroes. One of them comes from the Cape Town Blitz camp.
Fast bowler Anrich Nortje shared the new ball with his hero Dale Steyn against the Durban Heat on Sunday and he outshone the Phalaborwa Express.
Nortje ended with bowling figures of 4/32 as Blitz restricted their hosts to 157/5 in their 20 overs to set up a three-wicket win in the end - their second win of the weekend.
The 25-year-old Nortje admits that opening the bowling with Steyn was a dream come true.
He says: “It’s been unbelievable sharing a dressing room with Dale [Steyn].

“He’s just as awesome off the field as he is on the field and it’s really been a highlight in my career to be playing with him.
“So far we’ve been focusing on game plans and plans to certain [batsmen], which has helped me a lot.
“I think later in the tournament, I’ll try to do some skills with him and just try to improve one or two aspects of my game.”
Nortje might have another chance to relive his dream when the Blitz face the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants at Newlands tonight (7 pm).
He adds: “If given the new ball again with Steyn, building a good partnership between us could be crucial.
“Good starts from a bowling perspective could mean that we can put teams under pressure early in their innings and maybe try restrict them as much as possible.”
