Du Plessis believes cricket is becoming too sensitive and that David Warner’s aggression towards Quinton de Kock during the first Test in Durban was worse than Rabada’s shoulder brush with Aussie captain Steve Smith during the second Test in Port Elizabeth.
Du Plessis says: “I think we’re just going too far on the sensitive side, because every incident on the cameras is: ‘Did you see that? Did you see that?
“It’s Test cricket. The charge against KG [Rabada] is a level 2 with three demerit points, and the charge against Davey [Warner] is a level two with three demerit points.
“For me, if you look at those incidents, one is brushing of the shirt, the other is a lot more aggressive. My question was: why are both these incidents labelled the same? For me they are not.”
