Cape Town Blitz star Quinton de Kock believes the rest period before Sunday’s Mzansi Super League final at Newlands (3.30 pm) will serve them well.
De Kock, who returned from Australia to join the Cape franchise during the MSL, says the hectic schedule in the tournament has all of them moeg.
But when they face the winner of tonight’s semifinal between the Jozi Stars and Paarl Rocks on Sunday, they will be hungry again.
Speaking to SA Cricket Magazine, De Kock says: “We are all a little bit tired with our schedule during the campaign.
“We had a lot of games - back-to-back games. To make it to the final and get a couple of days off was much needed for us.
“Now we come back we’re hungry again to get the show on the road.”
Blitz will hope that De Kock can hit the road running at the top of their order where he’s been their standout batsman in the tournament.
The Proteas wicketkeeper is currently the second-highest runs-scorer in the tournament with 407 runs at an average of 68.
