Cricket SA (CSA) on Monday congratulated the Proteas on winning the One-Day International Series against Sri Lanka.
They clinched the five-match series 3-0 when they won the third match by 71 runs on the DLS method at Kingsmead in Durban yesterday.
“Congratulations to our Proteas on their fifth successive ODI series win, following their previous successes away to Sri Lanka and Australia and at home to Zimbabwe and Pakistan,” said CSA Chief Executive Thabang Moroe.
“They have built on the consistent form they have shown in this format for a considerable period of time and it bodes well for the ICC Men’s World Cup later this year.
“It shows that our vision 2019 concept is well on track and it is pleasing to see the depth of talent that is coming to the fore in all departments and giving our national selectors a wide pool of players from which to make their final selection.

“It has been particularly encouraging to see the way that newcomers such as Rassie van der Dussen and Anrich Nortje have come through the system in the past few months and it would be remiss of me not to give a special mention to Quinton de Kock and our captain Faf du Plessis for their outstanding form.”
