Cape Cobras skipper Dane Piedt is expecting more from his younger players as they look for their first Sunfoil Series win of the campaign.
After six stalemates in as many outings, the Cobras need some X-factor to get that victory.
Opening batsman Pieter Malan shown this weekend in the draw with the Titans, striking 137 in the first innings and got a call up to the SA A squad to face Australia.
There were also scores by the captain (74) and Stiaan van Zyl (54).
Zubayr Hamza struck 38, impressing again to earn a debut call-up alongside Malan, while Aviwe Mgijima managed 43 in the second innings.
Piedt says: “Our goals and culture is not to rely on only one star performer to shine, but to have multiple performers.
“And we are busy moving in the right direction with several players contributing, despite having only one player older than 30.”
