SETBACK: Cobras skipper Duminy

Coach Ashwell Prince’s Cape Cobras just can’t seem to swim with the Dolphins.

After being knocked out by the Durban franchise in the T20 semifinal earlier this year – albeit by default – they have now lost twice to captain Khaya Zondo and company in this year’s 1Day Cup competition.

The latest of those two defeats came at Boland Park in Paarl on Wednesday.
Needing 11 runs off the last two balls, Proteas allrounder Robbie Frylinck smashed two sixes off the bowling of Ferisco Adams to win the match for the Durbanites.
It’s back to the drawing board for JP Duminy, who scored 86 runs in the Cobras’ total of 289/6, and his team who host the Titans at
Newlands today.

The Cobras are still in search of the complete performance, with their bowlers having done the trick for them earlier in the campaign.

Dane Paterson and span, though, couldn’t find their rhythm in the Paarl outing as Dolphins openers Morne van Wyk (107) and Sarel Erwee shared a stand of 161 to lay a solid platform for the visitors.
While the Cobras fought back, it wasn’t enough in the end.
Having beaten the log leaders Titans at Centurion last weekend, Prince’s team will be confident heading into today’s encounter at 1.30pm.
