Cape Town Blitz have got the fire started in this year’s Mzansi Super League with three wins in as many outings to date.
Currently topping the log comfortably, captain Farhaan Behardien knows they will be tested when they play three matches - the first of which is against Jozi Stars in Johannesburg on Saturday - in four days.
Blitz then travel south again face neighbours Paarl Rocks in Paarl on Sunday, before travelling to Port Elizabeth for a repeat of Wednesday night’s match against the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants.
After beating the Giants by 12 runs after the Duckworth/ Lewis system was used because of floodlight issues, Behardien knows they’ve got their work cut out for them, explaining: “The tournament doesn’t get won at the start.
“We’ll be happy with the three wins. But we’ve got to build some momentum through the middle period and the back end.
“We’ll definitely take some positives from this, [but we know] we’ve got a tough road ahead of us, we’re playing Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday.

“But it’s nice when you’re playing that many games in quick succession with a bit of momentum and confidence.”
One player who will not be short on confidence heading into the weekend is opening batsman Janneman Malan.
The 22-year-old won the Man of the Match award with his knock of 57 off 39 balls as Blitz posted a competitive 175/6.
Malan looked good doing so, with the timing of his shots proving he is a man in form.
But he wants more.
He wants to get to the three-figure mark and would like nothing more than to get there in the upcoming games.
Malan says: “It’s a bit frustrating [not getting to three figures], but I’ll take the learnings out of this one.”
