Cape Town City got their first PSL Premier Division log points in three outings on Sunday, playing to a 1-1 draw with Moroka Swallows at Cape Town Stadium.
Entering the match on the back of two away league defeats – to Orlando Pirates (2-0) and SuperSport United (2-1) respectively – coach Jan Olde Riekerink’s Citizens went all out in search of a win on home soil.
But when Kgaogelo Sekgota banged in a goal from outside the goal area in the 13th minute, they would have feared yet another defeat.
The Capetonians, however, picked themselves up immediately after the strike and drew level in the 31st minute after Thabo Nodada was brought down in the box.

Up stepped Mduduzi Mdantsane to score his ninth goal of the season from the spot.
With both teams looking for a winner in the second half, Swallows defender Junaid Sait let his team down with a high challenge on Surprise Ralani and was shown a straight red card.
City, though, couldn’t make their numerical advantage count and had to settle for a share of the spoils.
