Kaizer Chiefs veteran Willard Katsande says they embraced their underdogs tag to reach their first Caf Champions League final.
Amakhosi held onto their 1-0 away-win advantage over Wydad Casablanca to keep out the Moroccans in a goalless stalemate at FNB Stadium on Saturday to book a date with Pitso Mosimane’s defending champions Al Ahly on July 17.
And the Zimbabwean midfield anchorman says: “People never gave us a chance and we’re carried the underdog tag since day one.
“But we never worried about that. After we lost 4-0 to Wydad in the group stage, we were written off but we kept believing.
“We didn’t have a great domestic season, but we kept going.”
Having cruised past Tunisians Esperance 4-0 on aggregate, Mosimane says he will have to study Chiefs, who have Stuart Baxter back at the helm.
Bra Jingles says: “You have to pay attention to details against them. We need to respect them.
“I can easily speak about Mamelodi Sundowns or Orlando Pirates but not Kaizer Chiefs. So, I don’t know what’s coming.”
