Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp praised his champions’ response to an injury crisis as they klapped Leicester 3-0 in a top-of-the-table Premier League clash on Sunday.
Even with eight first-teamers unavailable, the Reds swept aside a Foxes team who had started the weekend on top of the table to set a new club record of 64 league games unbeaten at Anfield.
And Klopp couldn’t have been happier with the team’s performance, saying: “The boys played an incredible game against a top opponent.
“Playing them like that tonight, I do not take for granted. The boys were on fire.”
Veteran utility man James Milner’s 21st-minute corner delivery saw Jonny Evans divert the ball into his own net.
Diogo Jota then became the first Liverpool player to score in his first four home league games when he headed home Andy Robertson’s inch-perfect cross on 41 minutes.
Despite losing midfielder Naby Keita to a thigh injury in the second half, the Reds were unrelenting and Roberto Firmino capped the game by heading home a Milner cross with four minutes left.
