Cape Town City duo Thami Mkhize and Abbubaker Mobara are back in training after testing negative for the coronavirus.
The pair were withdrawn from the Bafana Bafana squad ahead of the recent Afcon 2022 qualifying wins over Sao Tome and Principe.
However, coach Jan Olde Riekerink is still pondering whether to recall skipper Mkhize and the versatile defender Mobara for this Sunday’s PSL visit of Bloem Celtic and will make the call after assessing them over the next two days.
Craig Martin has deputised for Mkhize at rightback, while Keanu Cupido or Giannis Potouridis could slot in next to Taariq Fielies in the centre of defence for Mobara.
Meanwhile, Thabo Nodada is back at the club from Bafana duty and Fagrie Lakay and Shane Roberts’ return from U21’s friendlies in Saudi Arabia means Riekerink has a virtual full-strength squad available.
The only injury news is from Mozambican leftback Edmilson Dove, who could miss the rest of the season following knee surgery this week to fix a problem he picked up in the PSL bio-bubble.
